44 degrees and sitting on or about 43 well into the evening. we're looking at periods of rain and drizzle all wait today straight into the evening hours. another round of rain arrives tomorrow. drizzle in the morning, steadier rain in the afternoon. future tracker 6 is all set up to show that in a couple of minutes, karen. >> reporter: what about roads for now, they are wet. causing a slow go. the commute will be okay, i would slow it down and watch for slick spots. on the blue route, rain here, roads are wet. not seeing any slipping or sliding, you want to slow it down, a good amount of rain is coming down right there. on the big picture you can see how the weather is moving in. some of the pockets of heavier rain, blue route, schuylkill expressway, i-95 moving in the 40s and 50s even though the rain is coming down. it's not slowing you down too much here. we have an accident on swamp pike in limerick, that cleared, police left the scene there. police in montgomery county telling us we have icy roads in
collegeville. specifically main street between third and 5th avenue. watch for that being slippery there. a vehicle ran off the road 295 northbound past columbus, as you head toward bordentown. it's on the shoulder not creating too much slog on i-95. in a -- slowing on 295. taunten lake road is shut down by tomlinson mill road. stick to tuckerton road. there's a nationwide manhunt for a man who carried out a massacre in an istanbul nightclub. 29 were killed and dozens more wounded. one man was from delaware. katherine scott has more. >> reporter: jake roth was visiting turkey with friends. he was shot in the leg, and his friend was injured. jake roth was inside a popular
nightclub in istanbul when the gunman opened fire in the early hours of 2017. roth a small business owner from greeneville, delaware, originally from chadds ford was visiting turkey with friends. his brother likal -- michael tells a bullet hit his cell phone destroying it, it went from his hip to his knee and it likely saved his life preventing damage to a major artery. the nightclub was packed with 600 people celebrating the new year. at least 39 people have died. dozens more injured. many foreigners. the surveillance video shows bullets ricocheting in the street. people ducking for cover. the gunman shot a policeman and other man outside the nightclub before storming the front door before turning the automatic rifle on new year's revelers. you see the gunman inside in white with a hood. he was inside for seven minutes. the islamic state group has
claimed responsibility for the attack. police had drawn similarities of the suicide bomb and gun attack at istanbul airport last u.n., they are investigating if the same cell carried out the attack. jake roth was hospitalized and expected to return home sometime today. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> new this morning smoke and flames gutted a house in delaware county. the two-alarm fire broke out on the 700 block of 14th avenue and prospect park at 1:00 a.m. firefighters arrived to fierce flames pouring from the top of the house. no reports of injuries. new this morning, a police chase in wilmington, delaware, came to an end after the suv they were pursuing slammed into another vehicle. officers were attempted to pull over a stolen jeep cherokee around 11:00 p.m. when the driver took off. the jeep collided head on with another suv. the driver of the jeep and three

county being affected by this. this is a gradual improving situation. most of us dealing with the rain, some steady cells and drizzle. up north, there's a freezing rain advisory. actually as far as south as chester county, bucks and montgomery county as late as 8:00 a.m. this morning. up here in allentown, easton and toward the poconos it's more like 10:00 a.m. before we get warm enough for this to expire. if you're driving around watch out for icy spots in the northern areas. the big picture ticket items highlighted in blue is doylestown north. take it slow no matter where you go specially up north. we have cloudy skies down the shore looking north along the boardwalk and wet there as the rain has been falling for a couple of hours. 37 in philadelphia. well above freezing in wilmington. closer to freezing in trenton, 35 degrees there. much closer to the freezing mark in allentown and reading. it's areas, rural centers away
from the urban centers where we have a better chance of icing on roads. just about anywhere up here, be careful. sometimes overpasses tend to freeze up first, upper elevations, but also low-lying areas in valleys where cold air has pooled those are the kind of laces where you'll see the icy patches. we're in the 40s south jersey and delaware. no problems there. future tracker 6 shows rain might lighten up by 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. there's problem with icing in the far northern areas. noon, you're looking at drizzle and periods of rain back and forth. a little bit more of this building in later in the afternoon. even in the evening, rain and drizzle off and on wind down later tonight. allentown, and the rest of the lehigh valley only getting up to 40 with periods of rain and drizzle. down the shore, a little bit milder, 47 on thermometer up and down most of the coast, rain and drizzle there, as well. in philadelphia, 44 degrees,

71-year-old army vernon new year's day killed by a suspected drunk driver. it happened in the city's olney section. the victim was in the crosswalks when a speeding car hit him and dragged him several feet. the 25-year-old male driver kept going until he crashed into a fence not far from a playground. he was arrested and taken to the hospital with a broken leg. neighbors described the victim as a veteran, husband and father. >> he is a fixture in the neighborhood. once you see him, you know whose. you might not know his name, but you know him. >> the driver faces numerous dui related charges. a new year's day fire left 6 people homeless, the blaze on old forge road in middletown township, went to three-alarms before it was brought under control. a firefighter was treat the for minor burn and smoke inhalation. no word on the cause of the fire. 5 russian diplomats who were ordered out ever county by president obama have left the

tracker 6 live shows you that, clearly a lot of wet roads around the region. we look at the two dimensional deal, you can see there's cells highlighted in yellow moving up into the i-95 corridor before too much longer and south jersey in and out of the cells. up north we have a special concern that's the blue you see on the map. temperatures are closer to freezing between reading and allentown and in between those places there could spots where the surface temperature is below freezing. so the radar is indicating patches of blue expblghts -- and that's the possibility of freezing rain. take it slow in case there are icy patches. farther south we don't have that problem. as we look outside we have clothed skies and wet conditions everywhere, though. there's the commodor barry bridge crossing the delaware river into chester, pennsylvania. it's chilly in chester, temperatures in the 30s, the same thing a little ways up the river at the airport in philadelphia. 37 degrees officially. winds are light at 5 miles per
